a lot of good music sharing blogs have been shut down...some of them hosted only copyrighted materials and some hosted "legal" bootlegs and copyrighted material

hosting copyrighted material is a violation of not only terms of use, but federal law as well and the operators of these blogs know full well they will eventually be shut down..then they reopen until they are shut down again and so on and so on

however, I fail to see how all this relates to the original question..."who would you say is the best current live "jam band" act out there today...???"

We have a winner.....MAX CREEK imo is the obvious choice....these guys are celebrating their 39 year together! They are one of the original "jam bands" .

Before you declare a winner I'll put in my vote for STRING CHEESE INCIDENT.

Not sure if they;re still touring these days but pick nearly any show and you're bound to find a great combo of jamming styles from bluegrass to Jazz to hard rock to psychedelia and GREAT covers including Dead and Jerry tunes, Talking Heads, Allmans, Coltrane, even Michael jackson. SCI is a great jam band.
